Join us for an engaging and inspiring conversation with Lindsay Peat, a celebrated Irish athlete and former rugby star, in dialogue with Megan Lawton, presenter and reporter for the BBC.
Lindsay Peat, born in 1980 in Dublin, Ireland, is a celebrated multi-sport athlete known for her achievements in association football, basketball, Gaelic football, and rugby union. She represented Ireland in football at the U-18 level, captained DCU Mercy and the Irish national basketball team to multiple titles, won an All-Ireland Gaelic football title with Dublin, and earned 38 caps for Ireland in rugby, including competing in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Off the field, Peat is an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, ranked among Ireland’s most influential women in sport, and works for the Health Service Executive. Married with a son, she continues to inspire as a trailblazer in Irish athletics.
Megan Lawton is a freelance presenter and reporter for the BBC, bringing stories to life from her base in Toronto, Canada. On the BBC World Service, she hosts programmes and reports on issues that dive into everything from the arts and trending topics to breaking news, offering listeners fresh perspectives on the stories shaping the world.
Before calling Canada home, Megan was the entertainment reporter for BBC Radio 1, where she sat down with some of the biggest names in pop culture and sport, delivering exclusive interviews.
